I tend to agree with The Noisy Rogue on this one. I like to read blogs that contain useful information and quite frankly this fat cat hasn't been dropping any useful information in quite some time. I am sure some folks find his shit comical and use the "tongue-n-cheek" excuse, but shit writing is shit writing in my opinion. Along that note, will you please stop fucking doing the 1-25 shit list. It is just fucking stupid (yes I have read it), sure it may be nice if there were hidden messages and we had a super decoder ring hidden away, but it does not and therefore it useless. Remember when Ol' Rather said he fucking hated useless blog posts? Well right now the fat cat is as useless as it gets.

I respected him when he left to get his life together. Do not get me wrong and yes he has written some good posts, but to proclaim him as the "ultimate Hunter" is just plain ludicrous. There was a lot of good Hunters before him, and there have been a lot of damn good Hunters since him. The way I look at it is who gives a fuck that the fat cat is back? Congrats and can we please get back to reading some useful information or at least sub-par reused/borrowed shit?RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-32556549949199728192010-04-01T17:10:00.004-04:002010-04-01T17:38:54.699-04:00Play The Damn Game!Alright, so yesterday I sounded off on some fucking retarded fizzled drama. I am not going to revisit that since I have been told several times the matter is now closed (what happened to freedom of speech or making records public?); however, when I was whining about the sudden death of the feud, I reminded myself about a phrase that I fucking hate! "I pay my fifteen dollars and I have a right to play the game the way I want!"

I cannot begin to tell you all how much I hate that God damned fucking piece of shit phrase! Oh this is the point where I need to say that this post is going to contain language which may deemed inappropriate for some and viewer....er reader discretion is advised. To me, when people use that fucking God awful phrase they are trying to talk their way out of shit. Guess what, your fucking fifteen dollars doesn't mean a damn thing! You cannot play the game the way you want because, A) It is Blizzards fucking game and they write the rules, and B) It is a massive MULTI-PLAYER online game! The first part is going to hit you dumb fucks who play on a PVP server and hate PVP. Guess what? If you do not want to deal with being ganked, corpse camped, stalked, hunted, killed, ran down, ran through, tortured, mocked for being bad, or any other negative connotation that comes with the term PVP, then get the fuck off of those servers. If you are on a fucking normal server and want to fucking duel every God damned motherfucker who walks out the fucking inn, then fucking go roll a character on a God damned PVP server. Oh and let's not forget the dumb fucks who want to grief someone on a role-playing sever! If you do not like role-playing, then why the fuck be there? You see, Blizzard tried to set all these different types of servers up to meet your God damned playstyle but you are way too fucking retarded to understand what the following bunch of letters represent: PVP, Normal, RP, and RPPVP! For fucking fuck's sake, either learn to understand the shit you are playing or go fucking shoot yourself so that we do not have to pay for your sorry ass on welfare......

Alright, sorry there about that! I tend to start raging and it just begins to flow. So anyway, back on topic for those whining people want to use the "I pay my blah blah blah" defence. I declare bullshit (or ?bollix? as I learned that means the same thing in the Queen's English) on you! First of all, the only time you hear this defence is when some dumb ass starts something they cannot win. Here comes my advice to you, stop paying the money for the fucking game and do us all a favor. (Sorry Blizzard, but we both know that the game is better off without them.) You see, typically this situation revolves around ganking/camping. Someone goes out and gets pissed so they bring in their "heavy" guns and one/two/three shots someone else's alt. That is all fair and I am in favor of some good old fashioned ganking going on! However, as soon as the pot is stirred and the retaliation starts, the "defence" card is played. Well guess what? Fuck you and your fifteen dollars. Add another five dollars to it and go get a cheap lap dance from the local strip club a blow job from the dirty ass ho that you call your "partner". To me. when you use the "defence", you are saying that you want everything your way or else we have to listen to a major bitchfest. Well guess what? I can see your bitch fest and raise you a fucking rage session on roids!

Now do not take this as Rather saying to go out and grief players who may not be playing the game according to the guidelines of your server. This is Rather saying that we all pay our fifteen dollars each and every fucking month to play the game to enjoy it. Some of us like to go out and fuck others over in PVP. Some of us are more into the "hardcore" end game raid scene. Others may want to think they are fucking Bill Gates by playing the auction house. While still others may only want to get on and role-play. To all of you Rather says, players play on! What Rather is not saying is to use your fifteen dollars per month to hide behind when you start some shit you can't handle. My advice is beg for mercy and try apologizing to those that you offended. That may or may not work, but by fucking God take responsibility for your God damned actions!

See that is really what I am driving home right there in that last sentence! In case you haven't yet gotten it (because I am extremely subtle), let ol' Rather clue you in.
"Every action has a reaction equal in magnitude and opposite in direction." - Newton
He was a pretty smart guy, and I suppose his laws apply to more than just motion huh? In other words, if you go out and randomly gank someone, then you have no defence against what reaction might occur. So my last piece of advice is to anyone who may consider ganking a low level toon and reading this, think about that opposite reaction that Newton clued us in about. If after you think about it and are prepared for the hell you may unleash, then Rather says players, play on!RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-41394276966107343822010-03-30T14:17:00.006-04:002010-03-31T01:46:08.657-04:00War of WordsRather is back!! It has been a while since last time I went off and rest assured that I have plenty of good stuff to talk about and we are going to try our hardest to knock off this long ass list of items I have written down........or we can say fuck it and talk about a disappointing display of a blogging war! I am all about the drama and I call foul on Isolte and Eus! You two went to words, er war and Rather was looking forward to it. On one side we had an explosive keg of dynamite in Eus. Chick can rant and I love her rants. Very few people hold such rage that they can compare to me. On the other side is Isolte, who while not such an explosive personality, looks like she loves to throw some low blows against bad grammar!

So what has pissed me off about all this? I have nothing to do with either bloggers except reading their blogs. When you sit at work all day with nothing to do, you find a lot of blogs! It all started over the weekend with a random killing of some troll (or something like that). From what I gathered some members of Eus' guild stole a kill from Isolte?? (Did I do that justice?) This escalated into all out war that spilled over into their blogs.....for like two days. Then all of a sudden I check back this morning and all the posts are gone! Nothing is left. I cannot even get the names of those involved. There is no comments, no posts explaining the removal, no nothing! What the fuck?!?!?!

I demand answers! Seeings as I have no way to get them, I am going to answer for them. I feel this is the point where I need to throw down the disclaimer that this is going to be inapropriate for small children, adults, and anyone else who cares about correct grammar or is easily offended. If you fall into these categories, then why the fuck have you been reading my blog? Alright, so I am going off memory here, so don't hate me and don't bother to correct me because fiction is always a good read! I am lieing there, I would be willing to have any input....not!

So let's look at the root cause of the incident shall we? One person stole a kill from another! What the fuck? This is WoW! How many times has this happened and how many times have we been guilty of it? I know I have. I will not lie. Perhaps someone annoyed me with an action or I just wasn't paying attention. Honestly, I have never lost any sleep about. I have also not gone off the deep end about it. That is me though and I know I am unique. Whatever! So the kill is stolen, big whoop! I think Gevlon wrote a good topic on that and if I can find it I will link it. The whole idea of the post was that you are not entitled to anything in the game. Everyone pays the same price to play the game the way that they want to. That means if someone wants to be the villain and steal your kill, so be it. They pay for that pleasure.

Speaking of paying for that pleasure, a lot of people throw the "I pay my $15 to play the game the way I want to" when they do something like gank a lowbie. Which I believe is what happened. Isolte retaliated and killed a low level toon in the inn of their own factions town. Mind you, I have nothing against any sort of ganking. I am actually pro ganking. If you want to make an..... ah fuck that shit! If you go to cook something up, then you are going to end up breaking some eggs or some other shit you use to cook with. So kudos on the ganking of the lowbie. You definitely pissed off that guild I would say, well at least Eus. I find it wierd the other members of the guild did not come out and speak about the topic. Weird! Anyway, back to my thought on the whole subject of paying to play. I get so pissed when I hear that line as a defence for an action and then turned around used as a way to shame soemone else into not retaliating. It is a two way street and if you side swipe me, I am going to fuck your world up! Let me rephrase that, just like you pay your money to go out and get upset at a kill steal and then gank the offender, I pay my $15 to be a complete ass and proceed to corpse camp you.

So anyway, I am rambling again. The thing that seems shady to me (and I am not taking sides here belive it or not) is that Isolte just happened to have their main toons parked right there in the town? I mean, I take a higher level character and store it in the inn of the zone I am questing in, but that is in the same faction to deal with those who would gank. This situation seems more like premeditated ganking. Again, I support this but don't turn all scared little school girl and feign innocence! Step up and say that you fucking did it and what you going to do now about it? Instead it spiraled out of control into what eventually fizzled and was pulled down from all parties involved sites. Only those of us who happened to catch it right away were aware of this little short but comical war!

I suppose some sort of truce was called and no evidence of this altercation exists, but I sure as hell woudl love to know what happened? Did one side actually back down? Did they kiss and make up? Did the throw down and decided that was enough? I suppose I could go nose around the guild websites of the involved players, but that would require too much effort. Next time ladies, keep it public for the shits and grins of the rest of us. Well, that is all I have the time for today. Until next time people, keep on raging!

PS: I will update the links when I find some time.......if I find some time.

PSS: I updated the links of the two main bloggers, but have not been able to find the article of the green guy. Hell, maybe I was smoking some serious shit? Who knows, but if I find it I will update it. If not, maybe I have a new rant to take on of my own!RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-13870744273323212222010-03-10T05:36:00.003-05:002010-03-10T05:50:57.067-05:00Scratching My HeadSo as the guy who sometimes stands out for all the wrong reasons I wanted to talk about something that had me scratching my head a little bit. I tend to read a ton of blogs at home, at work, in the car while driving (joking.....maybe) and I was cruising down the list yesterday when I came across a post on Honor's Code. Keep reading please, I am not going to rant regardless of how you interpreted the title of the post. You see I have a lot of respect for Mr. Honors and I want to commend him for what he posted.

In todays society, we see so many people who want to cram religion, politics, ethics, socialism, and all of the rest of the "isms" and "ions" down our throats that we typically just either become immune to it or brush them aside as a cook, moron, jack ass, or other unstable individual. However, when I read this post I thought to myself, "self, that is a well laid out thought." (Okay I probably didn't put it that way.) In all seriousness, I think it took a lot of courage for Mr. Honors to take a stand and dedicate one simple post to explain his view points. It is nothing new, I can recall on a couple of occassions where he has mentioned his faith in his posts and each time it is a non-intrusive way.

I just wanted to take a moment out of my usual bitching to thank him for the post. I think that we can all take something away from the post, even if you do not share his views on the topic. What I believe you can take away is that, no matter your views, there is always a way to express them in a way that is not offensive and may even cause someone, like yours truly, to scratch their head and think about what you are saying. It sure beats the "Turn or Burn" method that has been utilized from time to time. Alright, that was perhaps one of the only non-contraversial, non-cursing (well less cursing than usual), and deeper posts that you will get from me. I promise to return to my usual cranky, miserable, brooding, contraversial self for the next one......maybe.RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-6628738655555231632010-03-09T19:09:00.003-05:002010-03-09T19:33:13.109-05:00S.A.N.So I have been reading up on this S.A.N. craze that is going about the blogsphere and I have extremely mixed feelings on this and we are going to discuss that today since I brought it up. So, for my one reader who does not follow any other blogs, apprantly there is an organization that is forming of the blogging community on the Argent Dawn servers of both the US/Oceanic and EU. It is like the plague of undeath sweeping the land of Azeroth, no one can stand up to it and everyone is becoming infected by it. If you do not believe me, google the words <single> and see for yourself what you get.

So anyway back to the focus of my topic which is a simple question of "is this a good thing or a bad thing"? I am interested to see in a year or two from now what does this guild look like and what does the blogging community look like because of it. Let's take for example something I may have noticed while sneaking a peak around SAN, which was the making fun of one greedy green blogger for his view points. Now do not get my wrong, I am not a fanboy, so to say, of this individual; however, I was kind of disappointed in the way that individuals were putting this person down. After all, having a blog is a way for us to express how we feel about things and explain our point of views. I am not defending or approving of the persons viewpoints, but was disappointed that there would be things like this expressed in the guild chat. I mean if this is a blog for the blogging community, then this greedy green fellow would be welcomed in this particular guild (even though he is against social organizations and therefor probably not in favor of this particualr idea). On this thought line, I would not have been annoyed by this behavior if this individual were in the guild and able to defend their point of views in a rational conversation, but it is apparant that some individuals would rather berate and belittle someone who does not share their own viewpoint instead of having an adult discussion on their differing view points.

So that was my big issue with what I saw from my initial inspection of the guild. Now there was plenty of talk and friendly chatter going on in the guild and people seemed genuine enough from what I could gather. The guild is bristling full of people and everyone seemed ready to help. So there is definitely some positive aspects of the guild. I am afraid though that the elitest attitude that many blogs claim to hate may become the norm for these individuals. If you do not believe me scan some blogs and see if there are not mentions of people accomplishing things (that have been done time and time before) and making remarks about how it was done smoothly because people knew what they were doing. Trust me, these posts are out there. I suppose that if you put a ton of bloggers together, their egos are bound to feed on each other and increase their size, which brings me to my next point.

What happens when two massive egos collide over something? Will there be a blogsphere end of the world type storm? Are these members able to simply agree to disagree? I know I am not. If you say something that pisses me off, you better bet your ass that you need to be able to prove me wrong or prepare to eat a face full of "I told you so" shit! Only time will truly tell the outcome of this little endeavor. At this point and time I am content to have deleted my character that I scouted SAN out with and sit back and eat some popcorn and watch the movie, because I think it is going to be one hell of a ride (good or bad).RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-45170650752224781452010-02-25T04:27:00.002-05:002010-02-25T04:30:43.275-05:00Surprise!I am pleasantly surprised that there is much more discussion of things on blogs now days versus the QQ sessions of bad PuGs. Do not get me wrong, I love a good rant, hell I throw down one every now and then, but you have to pace yourselves or you flame out. On the subject of flaming out, I did not stop blogging, but there has been a lot going on and because I have no relationship with any of you, I do not feel I need to post something here every day just for the sake of posting something.

That being said, know that I am still reading and if you all screw up and say something I disagree with, I will be all over it like a tick on a dog's ass and you do not want me sipping your blood out of the old ass! (Meh, I do not want to sip blood out of your ass come to think about it!)RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-85651363826071044582010-01-11T05:06:00.001-05:002010-01-11T05:37:40.505-05:00P.U.G.Alright, so we are going to talk about the state of the World of Warcraft in relation to P.U.G.s today people. So sit the fuck up and listen to what ol' Rather is going to say, because I guarantee that it is going to be profound and perhaps disturbing.....er deep. However, first I have to give some credit to my man over at Frost Is The New Black! I know I have said in the past that if I read one more blog about a bad PuG that I may have to hurt the blogger; however, my man in his post not only bitch slaps this PuG, but he fucking knocked the shit out of them! If you want to complain about PuGs and write about, then do what my guy here did and post some data to back up your claims and I will stand up and appalud you. Hell, I may need to see about hiring the choir from over at WTFspahetti to sing a chorus or two of Hallefuckinlua!

You think it can't get better than that opening? Shit, you don't know me then! So, I said we were talking about PuGs today and PuGs is what we are going to talk about. First, I want to give my description of a PuG to you. So first off, we have the assholes! These are going to be the people who try to play like they have skill but they are lucky if they understand the basics of the game, much less their class, and yes this is where 75% of you tanks are at....sorry guys but it is true. These guys are the ones who fucking stink like a dirty bitches asshole! Wait though, we have two more groups of people! The next group of people are the ones who come in and say nothing. Often times, they get berated and belittled by the assholes and say nothing or agree with them! These people, we are going to call the pussies! Yeah, I went there! See these people will get pounded on so hard and yet say nothing at all. If they get their feelings hurt or get pounded too hard they may leave. Unfortunately, it seems these people are the fucking healers. Yeah, the only group that can bring down the assholes...er tanks, and they are too shy or quiet or whatever the fuck it is that makes them say "thank you, can I have another?"! So here comes the last group! These guys are the ones that you hate because they are right. They know their shit, they know their shit smells like roses and they have no issue whipping out the e-peen to show you how fucking huge it is. That is right, these guys are the dicks!

So here to explain it better is a drunk guy in a bar from Team America....FUCK YEAH!!!!

I do not think I could have said it better myself, thank you drunk guy! So, if you haven't quite figured out what I am getting at here, then let me break it down. You see these fucking assholes are running around giving everyone shit, right? Way too many people are just taking it and getting covered in the shit to the point they do not want to play. What we need are some dicks who will stand up to these fucking assholes! Now, I am onle one dick and I cannot in any way fuck that many assholes, so I need some help. We need more pussies to get fed up and start being dicks! Who's with me?

You will never, ever, everrrrrrrrr think of a PuG the same way again!

Until next rant, this is Rather out!RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-38112572449963281362009-12-31T18:06:00.002-05:002009-12-31T18:19:55.101-05:00Special MomentsDon't expect no damn warm fuzzy post here! The title is up there for all the people crying and complaining about horrible PuGs! I am sorry that you have had bad experiences, I truly am, but get the fuck over it and move on. Now I am not one to belittle or bash on other bloggers, but if I have to read one more horrible story of some poor player who was doing their job and the big mean PuG layed the unholy PuG smackdown on your candy ass, then I may have to drive to where you and smack the shit out of you myself! Who knows, maybe you deserved what happened? I know, I know, I know! How could any blogger play a toon horrible? Shit, you haven't seen anything till you have watched me try to use my priest to heal! It is terribad and I would deserved to be kicked and even tarred and feathered from being so terribad!

Another thing that is annoying the holy piss out of me are the dumn fucks who run in groups and ask for recount data. Next time you are in a group with a recount nub who asks for it, tell them to fuck off and vote to kick them out of the group. If they ask why, then link them to my blog where I will boldly proclaim to fucking shut up and download the damn add-on. Special thanks to Eus for reminding me how much I hate those people.

Oh one more thought on the folks who are crying and complaining about PuGs, why fucking run the random? For two emblems? I mean I do not want to question your skills, but if you are talking about how great you are and you are running ICC 10/25, then why do you need the emblems? Maybe your mouth is writing checks that your ass can't cash? Sorry, but you all know who you are and if I keep seeing your whining asses complaining, you better bet I am going to give you a good dose of old fashioned "15 minutes of fame"! Yeah I took that from one notorious blogger who is complaining every day for the last week about the random crap ass runs.

So do I run? Hell yes and I am as fucking bold and annoying as I am right now. Someone tells me to not cast a spell and I know it is fine to, you better bet your sweet ass I am rocking it. For instance, on my DK lately I have been noticing that tanks tend to think that D&D steal their aggro. Well, I have news for you fuckwad nubs, it doesn't. Download Omen and learn to read it. I am watching it on every run I go on and I will put you in your place. Oh and if you up and leave my group, bet your sweet ass that I will tank and still do a better job than you could have anyway. Now don't say Rather, you are being an ass! Can't you calm it down some? I will tell you fuck no and kick it up a notch. What this game and blogsphere needs is some folks who will be honest and not all nice about stuff. I am all about helping folks, but don't pretend that you know everything about everything when you do not even understand your own main class. Yeah I went there.

Right now, I am getting ready to get drunk off my ass and throw down some good old time fun! Hope everyone has a good new year and watch out for the police on your way to and from!RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-32239448466902681692009-12-27T02:28:00.000-05:002009-12-27T02:28:00.203-05:00How Do You Define A Successful Blog?So I was reading Syrana's post yesterday about what makes a blog successful and she mentions a few things, but one thing stuck out in my mind more than anything else, and that was where she mentioned that she would consider her blog a success if she posted a couple times a week. I too feel that is how I am going to judge the success or failure of this blog. Now I am still wet behind the blogears and all, but I think it is good to set goals. It is even better to set obtainable goals. So my goal is simply to be the best damn blogger I can be and try to ensure I post at least two little ditties each week. If I can do that till my one year mark, then maybe I too will be a success. My congratulations to Sideshow and Syrana for their wonderful year long run and I hope another good year of posts from them!

On to some other things that are driving me up the wall! Will everyone who is running in the LFG system please not tell someone how to play their damn class. I was in a run the other day with a guy (healer) who kept telling this lock to lifetap. Now, perhaps if the lock was a moron or running out of mana during fights, then there would be an issue; however, said lock was managing his mana just fine. See he had this cool little glyph that boosts his spellpower everytime he lifetaps. So the lock was working it into his rotation. Well the asshat healer just kept annoying the guy till he just up and left. So please, to all the know it alls out there who may be reading this, just shut the hell up! If someone is not sub 1k DPS or causing a group to wipe, then just shut the fuck up and let them play their class. I didn't bother to stick around in said group for fear of healer finding a new target to inform what they were doing wrong. Ugh, people kill me sometime. I wonder why the fuck I am even playing a multi-player game? I hate people (except anyone who may read this!).

Oh well, what can I say? Oh and in case you didn't get my joke over the holidays, I really do enjoy them, but I cannot let anyone who knows me figure it out. So I have to be all "bah-fucking-hum-bah" and shit! So, do not think I am that cranky. I hate the way people have made it into a gift buying bonanza, but I like the idea of the season!

I wanted to ask a serious question though today as well. I saw this post over at the Greedy Goblin talking abour rawr and how it can make you a better player because of the information that it is putting out. Why in the hell do you really need this? I knew a guy who used this. He had a Shaman that he leveled and swore by the numbers he should be able to put out 3k DPS according to the aformentioned program. So we go on this heroic (I wanna say it was H UP) and the guy does around 1100 DPS. Me being the nice guy I am, rode his ass about how the hell he came up with these numbers. Needless to say he quit using the program. My question is why do people spend so much time looking at spread sheet numbers. Programs like this are nice in a way that you can look and see what the best in slot (for this month) is, but if you do not understand why it is the best in slot (this month) then come next patch you will be a fucking moron who is complaining to their guild about being kicked from a PuG because they could not produce enough threat, damage, healing, or whatever else.

I know there are a lot of number crunchers out there and some forums dedicated for those who claim to be "elite", but honestly if you do not understand the reasoning behind the why then you are just following the hurd. Which I find ironic that Gevlon would be one to follow the hurd given his anti-social viewpoints and all, but I am still not sure there is only one Gevlon as his writing style often changes. (Don't act like you haven't noticed the perfect grammar and punctuation Gevlon versus the mistake ridden posts that come up!) Okay, so I got off track there! Anyway, my point here is that the programs and number crunchers can only take into consideration certain things, but they lack the one thing that is going to make all the difference in the world! The SKILLS! No program can judge the competance of a player's ability to actually perform a certain rotation or understand the reasoning that you may want strength over attack power or agility over critical strike rating. So my advice to Mr Rawr User, once you have the book knowledge work on the skills side of it, because if you roll into my group shooting your shit and fall in the shit, I will ride your ass and make life miserable!RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-10011033861543348252009-12-26T03:56:00.000-05:002009-12-26T03:56:00.255-05:00A Good TipSo a couple of days back I blasted Markco for vomiting up old information that is pretty much common sense. However, if you post old information that is relevant or useful, then I am happy to mention it. One of those rare posts actually showed up on the Greedy Goblin! I know, it has been a while since we had a post that made us all tolerate him! Make sure and check it out as it provides a sure fire easy and simple way to make gold. On a similar note, Gevlin has decided to once a week post something similar to this, which in my opinion is far more useful than this piece of shit article that talks about buying by a percentage! Honestly, if you cannot tell that something which is selling for under 50% is not a deal, then just quit playing. Along those same lines, if you think that posting this shit is useful, please quit posting.

Now, I have recently received a couple messages via email that I was being harsh and that I should find more nice things to say. What, my Christmas videos were not nice? You people are hard to make happy you know this right? So, I want to present you with someone who seems to be much more cheery than I, maybe because of all the alts they are leveling...who knows? Anyway, go check out WoW Alt Addiction! I really enjoy just reading the blog to see what progress is going on with this grand master plan of rotating and leveling and other shit! With a promotion like that I should go into advertising right?RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-16312855587113969052009-12-25T03:00:00.000-05:002009-12-25T03:00:00.633-05:00All I Want For Christmas!

So I am probably even more cranky as I did not get this for Christmas!

BAH-FUCKING-HUM-BAH!

PS: If you look like Mariah, please get in touch with me!

PSS: This post was prepared before and scheduled for posting, hope the holidays were good for you!RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-63193664292997356612009-12-24T00:00:00.000-05:002009-12-24T00:29:01.114-05:00A Christmas Song For You All!So, this post is going to be posted on Christmas Eve as I will no doubt be drunk off my ass having a good time somewhere doing something that may or may not be considered illegal in five states! So I was trying to decide what I wanted to post and I just decided to share a little happy song I like to sing this time of year!

RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-74593269358036730102009-12-23T01:50:00.000-05:002009-12-23T04:18:37.702-05:00Am I Big Enough?Alright so yesterday I went on a "mild" rant. Yes, I said mild because I can really turn it up a notch or two if need be, but we save that for the "special" people out there. So anyway, I first wanted to apologize for being so hard on Honor's Code. I am big enough to admit that I was really hard on him. I really do not like the attitude I am seeing with a lot of folks and I think he just crossed my feed at the wrong time. So Honors, if you read my little corner of the blogsphere, sorry for beating on you.

However, I am not changing my stance on all the dum fucks who want to belittle folks in PuGs. I have been in so many PuGs where you have these asshats who think they are the gift to all of the WoW world but you can't make it past their arragance to really tell if they are good or just good at talking. To me, just shut the fuck up and play. I would rather have a run of silence than one fucker who wishes to spew thier filth about how great they are and point out every little thing that the rest of the party is doing; all the while they are only mashing their two abilities. Forget CC to help out the tank and healer. Screw handing out the longer blessings! You expect them to drop a totem? You get my point right? In case you missed it, just SHUT THE FUCK UP! No one cares if you do 7k DPS or 2k DPS (alright I may care if you are sub 1k, but I am not going to be an ass to you).

Alright, so let's move on! I feel the inner-rage coming up! Speaking of raging! I found this post by a blogger named Eus and I thought it was funny as hell since I worked in retail many, many, many ages ago. Hmmm, I wonder if this is why I am so fucking messed up? Anyway, go check it out. It looks like it is part of a series. From what I can tell this blogger doesn't post often, but they have some funny stuff when they do.

Thinking of the holidays, I have seen a lot of well wishing going on from bloggers all over the place. DO NOT EXPECT THAT HERE! I really hate the holidays. People get all excited about how much they got or spent and they forget the whole reason for the damn season, and no I am not going all religious, do I look like a religious blogger? Although I will set some offering plates out at the door so feel free to donate! In all seriousness, people do not appreciate the season for a time of being with the ones you have warm fuzzy feelings for! It just pisses me off to see it so comercialized now days. So I say bah-fucking-hum-bah! (aka Merry Christmas!)RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-33744686973940417322009-12-21T23:23:00.001-05:002009-12-21T23:41:43.397-05:00Responses To Recent BlogsSo as I said from the beginning of my blog, I use this as my own platform to respond to other blog posts that I read and talk about things that concern me. Today I am spending my time to talk about some recent blogs I have read and share my thoughts on the posts!

Honor's Code - I typically agree with Mr. Honor, but for this post I call bull shit. First of all, last time I checked a fresh 80 could pretty much run heroics. Yeah they might struggle, but to claim that as a tank you will be the number one in everything is a bit rediculous. I say post some screen shots of recount info or shut your damn mouth. I think your ego may be growing a wee bit too big. Secondly, I do not consider myself fortunate when I queue for a heroic on a lower geared alt (aka not my main) and I have some dum fuck who thinks it is exciting to blast through a heroic and then proclaim that we are fortunate to be in this run with them. I say fuck off, I do not need you that badly. If you are so grand and can solo this shit, then by all means just run it alone, oh wait you cannot. You need a random PuG to get your emblem. So how about you show some consideration for the fresh players and instead of stroking your epeen, assist them in learning how to play. Is that really too much to ask?

Just My Two Copper - Your newest post is a fucking waste of time. I honestly, have debated on saying this, but you are a fucking moron. You often times just waste my day looking at your blog. Now the quick minded person will ask why do I waste my time? I believe that if you are going to say someone is wrong, then you need to hear them out. Do not get me wrong, every now and then there is a useful post, but more often than not you just simply vomit up old ideas. Also, I find it pathetic that because another well known blogger turned you down rather openly that you have decided to go to their blog and post comments about the lack of skill that this person has in how they choose to play the game. Grow up and quit being a fucking moron. Also, I pretty much believe you to be the fake version of this blogger going around and posting since it fits the immature personality that you have revealed yourself to have.

Well, unfortunately I am running out of time and have some other things that I need to tend to. You know, I may need to put a mature warning notice on the blog as I have a pretty bad potty mouth. Oh well, as I also said, it's my blog. Accept it or go read someone elses! (Although really I would rather have you reading mine secretly!) I probably just need some hugs!
RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-66136112373202362402009-12-14T19:01:00.000-05:002009-12-14T19:22:40.129-05:00What Makes A Good Blog Good? So, I have been sitting here reading through some blogs while I am waisting my day away at work. Yes I know, what a tough job I have huh? I roll into work and hang out for a few hours getting paid while reading blogs! Hey occassionaly I try to help out a client. Anyway, I read a wide variety of blogs around here and I wanted to give my impressions of what I think a good blog is. You see there are a lot of popular blogs that in my opinion suck. However, if you were to name them, their readers would appear and begin to flog you. So, I am not going to name any names; however, I am going to list some things that I like and dislike (in no certain order).

Useful Content - I have an odd view on this one. I consider useful content to be something that I did not know. So if you are wasting my time by telling me to buy low and sell at average, well you are a douchebag who should probably quit writing. I like content that is going to help me understand other classes better that I may not play or be struggling with something. For instance, a blog about Priests that explains the difference between Discipline and Holy is a good read. It let's the readers understand that Holy uses your typical healing type abilities where the Discipline approach has them mitigating damage through the use of bubbles.

Clutter Free - I dispise adds on blogs! For one they ruin the look of the blog, but they also clutter the whole place up. I am not the worlds most consistant reader, so I often will be reading several posts on one day versus spread out over several days. I hate when you are scrolling down and have to see these ugly adds in between posts. I just do not like that. Also, if you have a ton of stuff thrown on your blog it will distract people from your content.

I hate when other bloggers who have an issue with someone and goes to their blog to insult them on their posts. It is childish and pathetic. Do not get your little heart broken because someone said no to an add to sell your guide or whatever and then decide to go to their blog and attempt to redicule them non-stop. In the end, you will look like the ass and not them. Also, since I hate adds it just aggrevates me that much more.

Elitist - Who cares how long you have been blogging or how great you are. Come down off your high horse and take a look at the ass you have become. A lot of blogs start out really good and then they get full of theirselves (or drink the kool-aid) and they just go down hill. Get back to doing what people started liking you for!

Be consistant, even if it is consistant in posts. The worse thing you can do is post once in a great while (like yours truly). If you want to sustain readers then you need to let the readers know what they can expect and when they can expect it.

Who cares about the number of viewers. I honestly do not track how many visitors I have ever had or post a site counter. To me those are just a waste of time. They realy do nothing to establish your blog as a quality blog.

Don't use wild colors. I like to look at sites that do not make me squint at the page. I often times will view blogs early in the morning or late at night (not counting while bored at work) and often times those bright bright bright lights just burn my eyeballs!

Alright, so now that I am off my high horse of complaining about you all is there anything else I wish to talk about? I honestly cannot think of anything. I know several bloggers were posting up stuff about the new LFG system in relationship to their own experiences. In all honesty it is what it is. What do you expect? A bunch of people who will never see each other again, running some heroics to get gear. If you want social graces, then join a golf club. This is a video game and manners (though good to have) are not necessary to play!
RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-87230052946061539652009-12-09T04:54:00.000-05:002009-12-09T05:17:22.170-05:00Most Embarrasing MomentSo it has been forever and a day since I last dropped a post. Want to know why? I freaking forgot my password! Yeah and then I forgot what the answer to my email secret super duper "oh-shit" question was. End of the story, I finally found my information. Yes, it is not good to leave this information laying around where it could be easily found; however, if you are like me, forget that stuff and write all that shit down somewhere!

So anyway, what is new with me and my misfit army of alts? Well, nothing! I was sad to see that Fish fellow jet out of the blogsphere, at least as an active blogger. I kind of liked his blog. Didn't always agree with him, but isn't that the point of really blogging? I mean I do not want to be the next greedy tiny green guy, but I definitely appreciate the view from the other side of the tracks as it were. Speaking of greedy, I missed the big brawl (or lack of one) between some gold gerus?!? What the hell is up with that? I lock myself out for a while and cannot comment and stir the pot up. Well, that is what you get.

Well, I am back on the scene and firmly gripping it (the password idiot) and shall try to be more regular about posting! As I stated in day one, I want to make my blog a way for me to respond to other blogs. So for my response today, I read over at that little gnome's inn that she posted some questions and feel obliged to the little cutie to respond. So here goes! (Oh and as is the case for me, I do not follow the rules and split some of the things up such as raid and instances. Some folks were doing it half-assed and I do it good when I do it.)

Best Raid - Hands down I like cruise control to easy so I am going with Trial of the Crusader. Sorry, but remember back in the day when they coined the phrase "charity epics", well that place on regular is snooze control. Sorry, do not want to offend anyone but come on, let's go whack some moles and crowd control some mobs? Please!

Best Instance - Okay, again I like to get me some purples for my army of alts so come on down Trial of the Champion! They may be easy, but they still are purple!

Least Successful Raid - Ulduar hands down. I mean how many damn guilds really cleared that place? I check out rankings all the time and a lot of guilds went in guns blazing but they burned out and Blizzard dropped ToC too soon IMO. Blizzard really needs to get a grip and realize who the hell is running the show. If you cator to the morons you will end up with a bad product. If you listen to the more dedicated (aka hardcore) you will put a better game out and all the rest will follow suit because it is the cool thing to do!

Least Successful Instance - Um everything in Northrend. They have to add a looking for group system cross server because people do not want to run that "old" content. Pathetic!

Siliest Gold Sink - Hmmmm...... I guess I have to go with some of the extravagant mounts in the game. Sure they are nice but not necessary.

Most Longed For Instance - Heroic Shadow Fang Keep! Hey I know it is months away, but the thought of that place on heroic just does something to me...

Most Juicy Guild Drama - Our GM going spastic every time someone quits. It gets old, but it is funny as hell to see the dude go apeshit. Now everyone who has a guild leader who blogs is wondering if I am in your guild. Well, you may never know!

Biggest Addition To The Game - Without a doubt, me!

Best Quest - I like the old lore quests. Someone mentioned the Sceptor quest where you go beat on some dragons. If anyone really remembers that thing, they have been around for a long time, cause opening those damn gates makes waiting for ICC look like childs play. Hell, just getting 40 people in a raid should of been an achievement, but then having a whole damn server work together to guarantee they opened it up. It was epic and Normal servers cannot begin to understand the epicness that it took for PVP servers to pull their shit together to accomplish that.

Ugliest Tabbard - My guild tabard. Oooooo how many of you are wondering if I am in your guild now?

Favorite Non Combat Pet - Sleepy Willy, that guy is my hero, just fall asleep anywhere.

Most Charming Blizzard Employee - John was really nice when my account was hacked to hell and back. The guy went above and beyond to tell me he couldn't do anything. Great guy, I bet he worked for companies like Enron and AIG during his esteemed career.

Best Podcast - WTF?? I do not have time for that shit. Hell, I barely was able to get back into my own damn blog.

Biggest Blog Facelift - I honestly do not know. I really do not pay that much attention. Didn't the little greedy guy change his picture recently?

Most Memorable Blog Post - I really do not know on this one. In all seriousness there is a lot of good stuff out there.

Most Noticed Blogger Breakthrough - I am not on that list am I? Hahahaha I think that it could go to quite a few folks, but I do not know who was in the know versus who was not. I just had a list of folks I read and expanded from commenters on their sites or from google searches.

Most Solid Content Provider - WoW Insider?

Most Hugged Blogger - How does a blogger get hugged? Maybe that is why I seem so angry?RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-72989437059504804072009-10-23T03:00:00.000-04:002009-10-23T03:00:07.905-04:00What The Hell?So I am just sitting here bored silly listing stuff on the auction house and I was thinking back to some of the weirdest moments that I have seen in the game that just made me say, what the hell? The reason that this has occurred is because I always set my stuff up to just start listing and then I sit and browse the auction house. I am typically looking for a good buy or perhaps something more specific if I am wanting to craft something for one of my toons. So while browsing the auction house I see this guy who is listing thousands of glyphs, which is cool. To each their own. However, the chump is listing them for such rediculously low prices I feeled compelled to buy him out and then just relist them. I mean honestly, people read articles on blogs and jump right in not even thinking about what they should be doing or if it is smart to try to jump on the bandwagon. This guy obviously did not just jump, but did a big old belly flop onto it. First thing he should of done was limitted how many of each glyph he was listing. He has actually flooded the market and prices are dropping quick then a blimp with a hole.

I see stuff like this all the time, but not just with the auction house. For instance, I was in a battleground and this guy was in there running around just getting destroyed. I whispered him and asked him what the hell? He tells me is just after some marks and honor. I was like ummm k? I wanted to ask him if he didn't understand the concept that a win nets more honor and more marks, but I realized that looking at his gear and his spec that he was just a moron. I refuse to waste my time on someone who clearly does not care about improving their game play. This guy will probably pick up his epic charities and then get into a raid because his gear score is so high. That reminds me, what the hell is up with gear score?

Honestly, I could turn 80 and spend one week running heroics every day and gather all of the gear from badges and probably get a couple of drops to go my way, which means that my gear score is naturally going to be higher. Does that mean that I have clue one of what I am doing in a raid? Nope, I would probably run around in circles chasing my own rear. I know that I am not the world's greatest player but still even I can see that gear score shows some work goes into your characters, but it is not the end all be all of inviting someone to a raid. I have seen folks show up in blues and greens to a raid and outperform someone who is wearing full epics. How does this happen? Well, because Mr Purple may have gathered gear, probably was carried through content, and has not clue what the hell they are doing. Yet the poor bum who has worked to get his own gear and learned his class will understand his own abilities and know where his limits are.

I don't know! The more I think about this stuff, the more I ask myself what the hell am I doing?RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-63293035859846685702009-10-22T15:00:00.000-04:002009-10-22T21:54:53.613-04:00It's My Blog So...Nah!!So while sitting here reading down through some folks blogs, I noticed that both Tobold and Gevlin wrote posts about commenters and their view points on this subject. I respect both of these individuals and their respective thoughts. It got me to wondering about the whole concept of blogging. Now I am new to this and I will freely admit this, but why do we write blogs? For me, I started writing so that I could respond to people's posts without critting the comment section; or in the case of people who may want to moderate a comment, then I can use my own blog to preach my own sermon. I also chose to start blogging because I felt that I have my own story to tell about how I see the World of Warcraft and the world as a whole.

I find it funny that some of the people who I consider to be good bloggers choose to shut down their comments or moderate their comments. Now it is completely their decision and I respect that, but I would like to ask why? Well, actually I do not need to ask why as they both kindly explained their own reasons and thoughts, but it was more of a metaphorical why. Perhaps even rhetorical? I may have even made up my own words there, but it is my blog so I can pretty much do whatever I want to, correct? I mean isn't that what we are really saying when we start to restrict comments or "moderate" them? Moderate is such a nice way of saying that we do not like what you have to say. Now if I were a lesser person I could ask if the Nazi's used the word moderate when they decided to moderate most of Europe, but we will not go there. Oh wait, we can. That's right! Why? Because this is my blog and I have complete control over this thing.

Sure I was being silly just then, but I was trying to stress a point at the same time. While we may not all agree, each of us (the blogging community) have the right to decide how and what we want to allow on our site, whether it is via what we post or what we allow to be commented on. I prefer to have an open blog where I do not restrict anyone from saying anything. Will this take away from the blog? I can absolutely see where it could take away from the blog, but it is a risk I am willing to take. I often times read every last comment on every blog I go to. I often times will return to a blog to read new comments on the blog. Why? Because I believe every person has something to say, even if it is something that is incredibly stupid or meant to create a buzz (either negative or positive). Do you have to agree with me? Nah, you can actually do whatever you want but that does not change the fact that this is my blog and I can do whatever I want to with it.RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-20036537635584945892009-10-22T03:00:00.000-04:002009-10-22T05:50:31.403-04:00The Rise And Fall of GuildsI was sitting here tonight minding my own business when I happened to notice several rather popular trolls (I prefer to think of them more as village idiots) who seemed to be bouncing from guild to guild. It got me thinking of my own situations. I have been with the same guild for nearly three years now. In WoW terms, I am an old grandpa who has been married to the same woman for fifty plus years. That is a long, long, long commitment by todays guild standards. It got me wondering what exactly do we consider a good guild? I mean some folks will go on talking about the guild as a body/soul, but who cares about all that pretty fluff? I want to know what makes a guild good?

So I thought about my own guild. We probably have around 130 individual people within our guild. That is not a lot, but it is better than most guilds. Now if we look at active players we are probably running around 30-40 folks during the course of a week. We actually have never ran a guild 25 man anything, unless you count ransacking Tarren Mill a raid? Which I have to tell you, it gets old after a while. So anyway, back to the guild. We run the usual ten man stuff, but we are never the first to run anything and we are so lazy we typically try only to clear the raid and not really try to achieve anything. Now do not get me wrong, there are some great people are geared out their.....well, you get the point right? We are currently in Ulduar like so many other guilds and we are working on the Trial of the Crusader. So you could say we are right there with most average guilds. We have been together for what seems an eternity. Some of the folks around here have been raiding together since Vanilla. I wonder though, does that constitute a good guild?

I mean, sure there are folks with shiny epics and all the latest and greatest gear, but is that really a good guild? I have read some blogs where they talk very openly about how they struggle with raiding and people leave their guilds in order to find another raiding guild, and I wonder are their guilds bad or what? You see it from some of the most famous of the bloggers to the wee little bloggers that hardly anyone reads, or at leas they think no one reads. So what is it that causes folks to run from guild to guild looking for the best guild ever? I mean if you are clearing content with your mates, then why leave them? So you can see some content before they do? It doesn't make sense to me. I guess at the end of this I can consider myself to be in a pretty good guild. We have a group of folks who have been together for a while and we are always happy to see new faces, but the best part is we experience the game together. I mean isn't that what a game is supposed to be about? Having a fun experience with your friends?

So what do you consider to be a good guild? Or even better, what is a great guild? Is it all about the achievements? Is it about trying to be the best? Is it about server firsts? Or is it about having fun and playing the game the way you want to with a group of like minded people? I hope to hear back from some of you on this?RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7675523084554915233.post-67233503919774085702009-10-21T03:00:00.000-04:002009-10-21T20:45:24.657-04:00Very First PostHello and welcome to my blog about the World of Warcraft! I have debated for a very long time on if I should or should not blog. I have started to create several different blogs and then stopped short of publishing them. I have been an avid reader of blogs for quite some time now and enjoy the fresh (and not so fresh) perespectives that a lot of people bring to the table. I cannot guarantee that I will shed any new light on anything nor will I boast of ways to improve your overall game play. I simply want to talk about the things that I find of interet in this game.

As the title says I have a lot of alts scattered across three accounts and multiple servers. I am actually going to refrain from listing the names and even the servers I am on simply because I want to be able to be real and honest, which sadly I do not feel I could accomplish with listing that information. I will tell you that I have several level eighty characters. I consider myself somewhere between casual and hardcore in regards to my playstyle. I like to think of myself as an avid player. You know the type who shows up prepared, understands how to raid but just does not have the time to dedicate to playing as often as others. I get mad when people do stupid things. I do not like running with groups that speak in "leet" and I abore stupidity and ignorance.

If you think you like me so far then hang on, we will see if I can find something that you may not like. I am extremely moody and opinionated. So if you do not like that, you may want to find someone else's blog to read where they cator to good feelings and want you to feel nice and cozy, as if you were sitting next to a fire. If you wanted a visual of my blog, it would be like the old mansion at the end of the road where you see a lot of activity but have heard horrible stories about the old cranky man who lives there. Yeah, I am the old cranky man and this is my old rustic mansion. So if you think you can handle me, then come on in, dust of a spot somewhere and sit down and let's see where this goes to.RatherNotSayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14607814558390356005noreply@blogger.com2
